Come and see the work by some of the best European creative and documentary photographers at the third original festival of photography! Unlike similar events of the kind, Fotojatka does not present photography as a static gallery exhibition, but dynamically on a cinema screen with musical background. This way you have a singular opportunity to see several hundreds of top-notch images by more than ten great authors in one evening – moreover, many of them will be present at the festival in person and ready to discuss their work and perhaps meet you over a coffee in the foyer. A common emotional experience of the spectators sitting in the same dark theatre, watching photographs accompanied by sound that creates the right atmosphere – that is something that no other photographic festival can offer you.
The screening evenings of Fotojatka will take place during March and April 2009 in well renowned cinemas in Brno, České Budějovice and Prague. Friday, March 6th, 2009 Friday, March 20th, 2009–Sunday, March 22nd, 2009 Friday, April 3rd, 2009–Saturday, April 4th, 2009
Impulzzz, an unusual photoworkshop
Fotojatka is not only a festival of cinema screenings. Inspiration that you've absorbed while watching the professionals' work certainly shouldn't be wasted. If you want to show your talents or just have fun with your camera, you can join one of the popular Impulzzz workshops, which are aimed at creativity and originality of the general public of camera owners :) See more at Impulzzz section of this website.
Open-air projections
A special chapter of the festival are large-size projections on town exteriors. After the positive response we got after the projection on the Black Tower in the centre of České Budějovice in the spring of 2008 we've decided to spread the concept into other locations. One of the events will take place between May 20th–23rd, 2009 in Jižní město (Southern City District) in Prague as a part of Street for Art festival. So far only used to billboards, the walls of the apartment blocks will experience an invasion of quality visual art... We plan more exterior projections at several place in the historical centre of České Budějovice. Exact dates and places are being negotiated at the moment.
Fotojatka at film festivalsFotojatka will be also presented at Letní filmová škola (Summer film school) in Uherské Hradiště and at Fresh Film Fest in Karlovy Vary. The details, though, are yet to be specified. |
